Cairo
January, 4 2007

When we got off the plane it was about noon in Cairo on January 5th.  After the bus departed from the airport I definitely was blown away by this totally different way of living.  I have never been overseas before, so even the bus ride was exciting because I saw so many things I've never seen before.  The laundry hanging from the lines almost everywhere here, which kind of reminds me of the movie Aladdin.  Cairo is extremely busy, and the car horns are honked constantly.   It's different to  see people basically doing whatever they want while driving.  Before we arrived at the hotel, Sofitel Hotel Le Sphinx Cairo, I caught a glimpse of the pyramids in the fog.  That was so amazing for me!  As soon as we were settled in at the hotel, I got my camera out and took some pictures; just to see the pyramids made this trip worth while.  I called my father from a pay phone around the corner from the hotel to let him know I was safe.  We basically ate dinner and went to bed because tomorrow we take a five and a half hour bus ride to El Gouna for our "vacation" portion of this trip.  I can't wait to learn and see more!
